Paulo Dybala has been officially introduced in front of the fans AS Roma. La Joya received a rousing welcome, made him smile widely, his eyes sparkling.
Dybala’s welcoming ceremony was held on Tuesday (26/7) evening local time at the Palazzo della Civiltà, one of the historic buildings in Rome. The building was inspired by the global Colosseum.
Dybala came out of the building. In front of him lay a red and yellow sea of thousands of Roma fans who were waiting for him. Shouts of “Paulo” three times from the presenters were answered by shouts of “Dybala” from the tifosi with the same number.

The 29-year-old player waved, clapped, gave a speech, a series of common things that new players do. But then he sat on the front steps of the building as the club anthem was sung. The look in his eyes conveyed happiness.
Dybala was greeted like a Roman war general who returned home after winning the war. He knew that behind this rapturous welcome, there was great hope placed on his shoulders. But the Argentine striker did not feel pressured.
“Today, after experiencing all this (welcome), I realized I can not wait to run at the Olimpico, in front of the Curva Sud (ultras Roma),” Dybala said, as quoted by the club’s official account.

Dybala’s rousing welcome was not only awaited by local residents. Football Italia recorded that more than 50 thousand supporters watched the live broadcast of Dybala’s introduction on Roma’s official Youtube account, a testament to the great enthusiasm of fans around the world.
Dybala is contracted to Roma until June 30, 2025. His arrival is expected to lift the Giallorossi, who since last season coached by Jose Mourinho, back to compete in the top flight of the Italian League and qualify for the Champions League after three years of absence.
