VfB Stuttgart and the other Bundesliga teams are currently preparing for the second half of the season: things will soon get back to business.
New year, new game: The Bundesliga clubs are currently preparing for the two remaining games of the preliminary round and the second half of the season. They don’t have much time to do it and the cup will continue in January as well. Here are the most important football events at a glance.
Start of the Bundesliga: Matchday 16 of the preliminary round begins on Friday 20 January at 20:30 with the duel between RB Leipzig and FC Bayern Munich. VfB meet FSV Mainz 05 in their own arena on Saturday (January 21, 15:30) and are also the first homemaker of new coach Bruno Labbadia.
Bundesliga second half: The 18th day of the last weekend of January also marks the beginning of the second part of the season. It will be announced with the match between RB Leipzig and VfB Stuttgart on Friday evening (January 27, 20:30).
End of the Bundesliga: The last game day will take place on 27 May. Finally, VfB Stuttgart awaits TSG Hoffenheim in the duel in Baden-Württemberg. All matches will start simultaneously at 3.30pm.
Cup Round of 16: The eight matches in the third round of the DFB Cup are scheduled for 31 January and 1 February. The duel between SC Paderborn and VfB Stuttgart gets underway on Tuesday (31 January, 18:00).
Cup quarter-finals: This round takes place on April 4th and 5th.
Cup semi-finals: These two matches will be played on 2 and 3 May.
Cup Finals: The DFB Cup will conclude with the final on June 3 at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin.
