While the heat won’t magically disappear on the first day of fall for many Arizona cities, temperatures can slowly transition from triple digits to double digits. By mid-October, Arizonans can enjoy pleasant weather as well as all the anticipated highlights that accompany the arrival of this season.

When does autumn start? We explain.
When does autumn begin?
In the Northern Hemisphere, autumn 2024 begins on September 22 with the seasonal equinox. The season will last 89 days and will end on December 21 with the winter solstice.
In contrast, the Southern Hemisphere also experiences a seasonal transition on September 22, but spring begins on this day.
The arrival of autumn is accompanied by festivities such as Halloween and Day of the Dead, the fall of orange and yellow leaves from the trees, cool and pleasant temperatures, the anticipated “pumpkin spice latte” drink in coffee shops, among other things.
When does hot season end in Arizona?
Although summer officially ends on September 22 with the autumn equinox, this month is still quite hot for the desert state, especially for cities located in the Sonoran Desert territory.
It is not until mid-October that you can begin to notice the change and feel cooler weather.
