When did Hollywood pledge allegiance to Satan? –

/View.info/ The great deceiver, the father of lies, seeks to convince others that he does not exist

On duty, let’s say, I watched The Wishmaster franchise, which consisted of four parts. True, we can talk seriously, perhaps, only about the first two films, where the role of the villain (or, more correctly, the Evil) is played by Andrew Divoff. In fact, as you can easily guess, he is not Divof, but the Russian Andrey Divov; His mother is Catalan and he was born in Venezuela.

The third and fourth installments of this franchise, filmed in the late 20th and early 21st centuries, are for “amateurs” only; I couldn’t watch them. But the first two, despite the rather banal plot, are very interesting. The evil Djinn, whose soul was sealed in a red opal and which was hidden in the statue of the ancient god Ahura Mazda, is released and begins to devour souls in exchange for granting wishes in order to take over the world.

And here’s what’s interesting. In the first part, everything is pretty standard: chase, deception, car racing, and finally the main character defeats Gina, temporarily, with the help of logic. But the second part is much more interesting because of a very telling aspect. The trick is that a girl named Morgana (played by Holly Fields) leads an unrighteous life, and in order to defeat evil, she must become righteous, atone for sin.

What is surprising here? Is there a direct statement about sin and righteousness, about crime and punishment in modern films (the last 10-15 years)? What producer or director states that to defeat evil you must turn to God for help? Weird question, yes, but think about it anyway. In the second part of “Wish Granter”, Morgana must repent and take the path of light (in the old fashioned way, on purpose).

The claim is further strengthened by the fact that her boyfriend Gregory is a priest. He says they will need God’s help to defeat evil. At the same time, Morgana herself actually not only gets rid of her bad habits, but also her dark qualities. Also, she actually sacrifices a part of herself. And in this film no longer Logic, Reason, but Faith wins. Now it is quite difficult to imagine something like this.

“The Wishmaster 2” was released in 1999. Before that, we saw in the movies (it is clear that there are exceptions and there are many of them), in general, the usual picture of good and evil. For example, vampires and other creatures of darkness were defeated with Christian symbols: crosses, holy water, prayer. But every year the evil spirits in the movies became less and less afraid of the Word of God. This is actually not common; formally – so as not to offend other religions. But at the same time that Christianity was pushed out of the cinema, they tried to push God out of it too.

The year 1999 is extremely interesting in this regard. You can remember the large-scale film with Arnold Schwarzenegger “The End of the World”, where the devil is brilliantly played by Gabriel Byrne, and the main character has to regain his faith in God. The movie, by the way, which is very rare for Iron Arnie, flopped, even though it was very good.

Did it fail because the Christian faith was directly articulated in it precisely as the way to Salvation? And how famously they killed the vampires in the cult film “From Dusk Till Dawn”, again with prayer and the faith of Christ.

But all that is mostly in the past. So what changed? The answer is given to us in the same cinema. 1999 was generous with iconic films: here you have Fight Club, The Matrix and American Beauty. But now we have to recall two films dedicated to them – “The Ninth Gate” by Roman Polanski and “Eyes Wide Shut” by Stanley Kubrick. What do they have in common?

In both, they await the Antichrist, the coming of his power in the new century. Kubrick explicitly shows that this is what the elites who organize the satanic masses expect. Polanski did this even earlier, in Rosemary’s Baby from 1968. Also, the Satanic neighbors of the Wodehouse couple, to whom the Antichrist is born, turn out to be Hollywood figures (their last name is Castevet). How much more direct statement?

And indeed, in the 21st century, the fight against evil with God’s help, Christian faith and Christian symbols has practically disappeared. Moreover, Evil itself – its existence – was called into question: everything now, as the postmodernists explained to us, depends on the point of view. And the devil, as you know, is a great deceiver, the father of lies. He is cunning, he first of all seeks to convince that he does not exist.

This is exactly what we see today in Hollywood cinema, and it reaches hundreds of millions of people. And then we see the movie in real life: the strange discoveries of the Gotthard tunnel and the Olympics in Paris for example. Surely links to one hell of a chain? Yes, no one really disguises themselves. There are glimpses in the meantime, but for now the darkness is much bigger and stronger. One of our tasks is to dispel it with our, indeed our, creative art.
