The internal presidential movement has returned, this time by Hezbollah, as if we have entered a new phase in the process of reaching the election of a president for the republic.
It is true that outwardly the meetings appear to be consultative, but they carry in their hearts the connotations of the stage that precedes the stage of naming and deciding options on the part of the party. This is consistent with his openness and calls for dialogue in order to agree on a name. Moving from presenting specifications to presenting names clearly has become a necessity at this stage for each party to present its options and put them on the table, which gives the presidential battle the clarity that all parties need at this time. .
It seems that the party moved from giving advice to applying it. In more than one speech, the Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, addressed the political parties to the need to take the initiative and put the outside in front of the fait accompli, especially since it is mainly preoccupied with other files, and Lebanon is not one of its priorities in this period, and since the situation is In the country, we do not wait and we do not have the luxury of time. We have no choice but to take the initiative and internally agree on a president for the republic.
As for those who bet on the external settlement, given that it will be reflected in Lebanon, Sayyed Nasrallah decided that there are no looming settlements on the horizon, and that the interior should not wait for it, because it is a waste of time.
It is true that the stage of major settlements has not yet arrived, but this does not mean that we are on the verge of a special war in the region, so we can consider that we will be facing a stage of “tightening the ropes” in which the sanctions that the Americans will continue to bet on in order to achieve gains, including the presidential file in Lebanon, will continue. Which also can be reflected in bilateral settlements between the countries of the region, most of which Syria is a party to, and when we say Damascus and link it to the presidential elections in Lebanon, the first thing that comes to mind is the name of Suleiman Franjieh, who has a distinguished relationship with Syria, but despite the history of the relationship, there is concern and wish. From the Syrian leadership on Hezbollah for the unity of its team in the presidential file, headed by the Free Patriotic Movement.
As for the American, French, Saudi, Qatari, and Emirati meeting, it remains within the framework of recovery on the one hand, and presidential consultation and an attempt to bridge views on the other. skip it…
So… between the inside and the outside, there are movements in the same direction and its opposite at the same time. If the inside supports its position by consensus, the outside position will weaken and its role will recede, in the sense that it will place it before the fait accompli. But if the internal parties remain unrealistic, the external role will strengthen with its negative repercussions on the country…
