People have a date with 4 giant moons this year, one of which is the “Blue Moon”, which doesn’t happen every year.
What is a supermoon?
The supermoon is a rare and impressive lunar event that is glimpsed only a few times a year.
When this happens, the sky is filled with a large, bright moon that would dazzle anyone looking at it.
A supermoon is a combination of two different astronomical effects, particularly when a new or full moon coincides with “lunar perigee,” which is the closest point to Earth in its monthly orbit.
The moon must be within 90 percent of its minimum distance from Earth to be officially called a supermoon.
This means that the moon must be within 224,865 miles of Earth and be a full moon.
The world will have an appointment with 4 giant moons in the year 2023, according to the British newspaper “The Sun”, on the following dates:
July 3: Pak’s moon
August 1st: Sturgeon Moon
August 30: Blue Moon
September 29: Harvest Moon

The Aug. 30 supermoon appears to be a blue moon, which is a rare occurrence, according to Sky News Arabia.
Occurs when you get the second full moon in a calendar month.
The moon has nothing to do with the color blue (as well as the name), but it’s exciting.
The Blue Moon occurs every 2 to 3 years.
In rare cases, the thinnest moon can occur twice in one year, such as in 2018 and 2037.
