Jakarta –
Vice Chairman NCP Alexander Marwata had warned not to let the Governor of North Sumatra (Gubsu) be arrested for the third time. He also conveyed this in front Governor Edy Rahmayadi.
Alex conveyed this when attending the declaration of the construction of the Integrity Zone Towards a Corruption Free Area (WBK) and a Clean and Serving Bureaucratic Area (WBBM) in the North Sumatra Provincial Government. The event happened to be attended by Edy Rahmayadi, Deputy Governor of North Sumatra Musa Rajekhshah, and a number of other officials.
“There is a bitter experience for North Sumatra, whose regional head was arrested twice by the KPK. Don’t do any more hat tricks, sir (Edy Rachmayadi),” said Alex at the Gubsu official residence, Medan, Tuesday (22/2/2022).
Alex said there is a custom in North Sumatra to bribe regional heads. So, he said, a term appeared in North Sumatra ‘all business uses cash’.
“North Sumatra, all affairs use cash. And it was conveyed that there was no feeling of concern,” said Alex.
Not only that, he also mentioned the term ‘this is Medan, man’ which is often used by North Sumatran residents, especially in the city of Medan. Alex mentions this term as if there are different regulations in North Sumatra regarding corruption.
“It’s as if the regulations are different in Medan,” he said.
Because of that, Alex reminded Edy that integrity in this government can be realized if it starts from the leadership. He also asked that the development of the integrity of this region also involve the community.
“Development of an integrity zone is not only homework, but also the community. We also invite the community, we educate, so that they have integrity as well,” he explained.
