/ world today news/ The only logical explanation for the pressure of the Minister of Defense and his entourage to make public the archives of the military intelligence with the names of foreign citizens who worked for the Bulgarian state is that someone wants to destroy the Bulgarian military intelligence. When a country does not have such intelligence, it is finished.
The lack of information means defenselessness and is a step towards the liquidation of Bulgaria as a sovereign state. Minister Nenchev and the biggest proponents of this idea are clearly fulfilling someone’s order with these actions. The other option that they are ignorant is also a likely explanation.
The service /military intelligence/ maintains and stores its own archive for the employees and collaborators, as well as for their cooperating foreign citizens, is the meaning of Art. 29 of the Law on Military Intelligence. And the materials relating to the relations of foreign citizens with employees of the service, are not provided to the Commission for disclosure of documents and declaration of affiliation of Bulgarian citizens to the DS and the intelligence services of the BNA, it is written again in this article. How did the Minister of Defense react to these texts? Well, you probably don’t read them! Ignorance and non-compliance with the law is no obstacle for such people to do whatever they want, especially in the last 20-odd years. The status of such politicians gives them no reason to fear – show me at least one of them convicted of betraying national interests. I haven’t heard of one.
Before September 9, 1944, they joked that in Bulgaria all the ministers were either former or future prisoners, but in the last 25 years there has not been a single convict in our country. Yes, there is in Romania, but there is also a country there – no one destroyed the immune system of their country like we did. In our country, the process was purposeful. Indeed, before the changes in Bulgaria, there was a political police that deserves to be condemned, but there is no country in which there is no intelligence, counter-intelligence, including military intelligence. A number of structures and systems of our national security were deliberately disintegrated under all sorts of good-looking pretexts for decommunization, the professionals – dispersed, to ensure smooth and unpunished looting of the state. Now we are probably witnessing the final stage – destruction of the state as a sovereign entity.
According to Art. 25, again from the Law on Military Intelligence, persons who have 10 years of professional experience in the structures of the national security protection system or the armed forces are appointed as director and deputy director of the service. It is said that the former MP Yordan Bakalov will be proposed for this post. I do not know him personally, but I have not heard that he was on staff in these services. But we return to our eternal handicap – in Bulgaria, professionalism and knowledge have not been respected for a long time. Conversely, ignorance and obedience inspire respect.
So, I see no problem with almost anyone caught off the street being appointed to any position of power. That is why we will pay the price of everything. Because because of outrages and ignorance, forests have been cut down and there will be floods, droughts and people dying undeservedly. But… that’s the price we all pay for letting it get to this point.
I feel a little embarrassed when some say “Bulgaria has existed and will exist”. I’m not so sure. It is true that I am a skeptic, I see the absurdities and I am not silent, but this does not make me less of a patriot than them. But such people beat their chests and think we will get away with it. I don’t think they’re right – gravity works, no matter how much it’s stigmatized. It depends on us, and if we continue in this way, we are in for a disaster, and a recent one at that. Who knows – maybe such a catastrophe will sober us up, give us strength and incentive to start thinking with our heads and build our country in a new way. Hopefully.
