When a Child Has Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever, It’s Important to Pay Attention to This

Karyanti revealed that the danger signs when a child has dengue fever can appear even after the third day, when the critical phase is actually happening.

“So the temperature started dropping on the third day. Sometimes we ask how the child’s condition is, ‘Oh, the heat has gone down, you can sleep already. But I had vomited blood’. So, something is not right,” said Karyanti.

“The temperature is dropping, the child is sleeping all the time, so that’s not a sign of danger. If the temperature drops, the child should be actively healthy. But this is sleeping all the time, be careful, OK? Then he has no appetite to drink. He drinks, but he can’t keep vomiting. – be careful,” he added.

Karyanti added that persistent vomiting is a sign of danger because children can experience worsening dehydration. In this condition, the child may feel weak and just want to sleep.

So, if danger signs have occurred, you should immediately check the child’s condition to the doctor. So that it remains under proper monitoring.
