When a 99-year-old great-grandmother was declared pregnant, this turned out to be the cause…

PORTSMOUTH, KOMPAS.com – Doris Ayling great-grandmother 99 years old from Bognor Regis, West Sussex, English was declared pregnant.

This incident occurred in 2015, and Ayling’s case was the fault of Portsmouth Hospital.

Quoted from The Independent (20/7/2015), Ayling received a letter from Fareham Community Hospital stating that she was pregnant and had to come to the antenatal unit.

The letter also correctly indicated the birth date of Doris Ayling, who in November of that year turned 100.

At that time Ayling had three children, seven grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

He told the media Bognor Regis Observer“I’m quite amused by it all. I’ve never been to Portsmouth hospital and I don’t know where Fareham hospital is.”

“It is really a mystery to me how I got this letter.”

“I had three children at the age of 20,23 and 29 years, that was enough. I will keep the letter because that is the subject of the conversation,” explained Ayling.

A spokeswoman for Portsmouth Hospital NHS Trust later clarified to The Independent that this incident occurred because of a misrepresentation of letters.

“We sent the wrong letter of promise to the mother.”

“This is a rare administrative error, and we have apologized for any unnecessary anxiety this error may have caused,” the letter read.
