JAKARTA (RIAUPOS.CO) – WhatsApp launched a new feature called companion mode for all beta users on the Android platform. The company first introduced this feature back in 2022, and it’s currently being tested.
The popular chat messaging platform rolled out a new feature of its app for Android beta users running version 2.23.8.2 or later. For those who aren’t in the know, Companion Mode basically adds another layer to existing multi-device support.

This feature allows you to connect your WhatsApp account to another smartphone for easier chat access. It works even if your primary device doesn’t have an active internet connection.
Currently, Companion Mode is only available for the Android platform and allows you to connect a secondary Android device. To try out this feature, users will need to download the WhatsApp Messenger or Business beta app on their second Android phone.

Following this step, you can select the option to ‘Link device’ in the app while also running the app on their main phone as well as open Settings then go to Linked devices.
Scanning the QR code from this screen from your second phone will instantly link the two devices. So now, you can access chat history on both devices much faster.
