WhatsApp: You can now have custom avatars and 36 custom sticker templates

According to WhatsApp indicated on its blog, users will be able to create their own personalized avatar using a wide variety of features that allow the combination of “various hairstyles, facial features and clothing”.

Once the avatar is configured, From this, 36 “stickers” will be generated, reflecting different emotions and actions (smiling, clapping, blowing a kiss, etc.). These can be sent to both individual and group chats.

Even the avatar can be used as a platform profile picture, as it simulates a digital version of the user. In addition, WhatsApp has emphasized that it will continue to include style updates, such as lighting, shadows, hairstyle textures to improve the avatar.

In this way, the messaging service aims to provide the user with a “fast and fun” way to communicate with friends and family, as well as a tool to convey feelings in another way. “They’re also great for preserving your privacy, as they represent you without you having to include your photo,” WhatsApp indicated.

This implementation of avatars is part of Meta’s interest in developing the metaverse. In addition, the company has introduced advances such as the ability to use three-dimensional (3D) avatars in some of its applications, such as Facebook.
