From December 31, WhatsApp will stop supporting the operating systems of 49 older smartphone models, as reported by Cyber News. Before this happens, their users will be notified several times about the upcoming update and the possibility of losing access to the popular instant messaging service.
Whatsapp starting December 31, it will only support phones running iOS 12 and above, Android 4.1 and above, and Linux KaiOS 2.5.0 and above. This means that users of phones with older operating systems who are unable to update to the latest versions will not be able to continue using WhatsApp.
WhatsApp will stop working on these phones
According to CyberNews, Whatsapp it will stop working on 49 previously supported phone models. Among them are: “The iPhone 5 and iPhone 5c models, seven Samsung Galaxy phones released in 2013 and earlier, and several Huawei, LG, and Sony Xperia phones.” The full list, prepared by Giz China, is presented below:
