Almost every smartphone owner in Germany uses WhatsApp. But as simple as the app is at its core, it becomes more confusing with each new function. And so the new functions that are only just being rolled out via an update have arrived on smartphones completely unnoticed by many people. But there is a lot to discover.
New stickers from GIPHY
Everyone who loves GIFs and prefers to communicate exclusively using this format probably knows GIPHY. And now GIPHY is also available in your WhatsApp app. From now on you can find animated stickers from GIPHY in the WhatsApp sticker manager. All you have to do is click on the sticker menu and select a sentence or search directly for a sticker that matches your current emotion.
If you have already downloaded a number of stickers, the area quickly becomes full and confusing. That’s why you can now sort the small images and always keep an eye on your favorites.

Attention Android users: New Whatsapp image feature
The standard stickers are of course pretty impersonal. But Whatsapp now offers a solution here too. A function that has been available for some time on iOS, i.e. on Apple iPhones, is now also available for Whatsapp for Android phones. You can now create your own stickers from your photos.
Meta has built a “Create” button into the sticker menu, which takes you to the Custom Sticker Maker. There you simply select a picture of yourself or an object and the function converts the photo into a sticker. It also allows you to use a cut-out version, i.e. an image without a background. You can also personalize your image individually and it offers editing tools such as a pen and crop. At the end, when you save the new sticker, you put it in your overview and can access it at any time from now on.
AI stickers not for German users
Meanwhile, the meta-AI is still not arriving in Germany. Whatsapp announcedthat the AI stickers are only available in the USA. US users can already create and use stickers created by AI on iPhones and Android phones. This works in English, Spanish and Bahasa Indonesia. German users, however, are still left empty-handed.
