Communication and social media applications continue to be updated to include enhancements, increased security, and new features. On many occasions, competitor functions are adapted, such as Instagram and the ClubHouse social network. As with the instant messaging apps that some try to add the functions of others to offer the same functions and not lose users.
This time WhatsApp has added improvements in the option to archive chats that we are not interested in. From WBetainfo we see As the beta version 2.21.11.1 for Android incorporates these new options although they may not be available to all users of the version. Up to now archived chats left that state when we received a new message, now we can decide whether to keep it that way or leave them archived even if we receive new messages.
Also tab for archived chats has been moved to the top and we will be able to see the number of unread messages including those of the archived chats. A new function will be incorporated soon in future versions that will allow automatically archive chats after 6 months of inactivity.
You can check in the settings of your WhatsApp in the Chats section if you already have this function as long as you have the beta version 2.21.11.1 of WhatsApp.
