Jakarta –
WhatsApp will be rolling out the multi-device feature soon for beta testing. In this initial trial phase, the feature is likely to be limited to a few types of devices.
WABetaInfo reports support for WhatsApp’s multi-device feature will be limited to WhatsApp Web, desktop and Facebook Portal. This means that in this trial phase, WhatsApp users cannot connect other phones because this feature is still exclusive to the three platforms.
In the screenshot uploaded by WABetaInfo, after the user connects his WhatsApp account with the Web, desktop, and Portal versions, the user can directly access his account even though their phone is not connected to the internet.
Users can also connect their WhatsApp account with four devices and one cellphone. This means that WhatsApp allows users to connect up to five devices at once.

It is not yet known whether users will be able to connect a second phone through the next update. But for this first version, the multi-device feature is still limited to WhatsApp Web, desktop and Portal.
WhatsApp’s multi-device feature in this trial phase also has other limitations. Users cannot communicate, either by phone or chat, with other users who do not use the application WhatsApp latest version on the phone.
This means that the sender and recipient of the message must have the latest WhatsApp application if they want to enable the multi-device feature. This limitation can make it difficult for users who cannot update WhatsApp on their phones because they are using an older operating system.
The multi-device support feature in this trial phase will also affect performance and quality. But issues like this will likely be fixed immediately before this feature is rolled out more widely.
The presence of this multi-device feature was announced directly by Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Head of WhatsApp Will Cathcart. This feature allows users to access accounts WhatsApp them on multiple devices at once, even if their phone isn’t online.
To WABetaInfo, Zuckerberg and Cathcart ensure this feature will be available to all WhatsApp users within two months. But the schedule could be postponed to ensure this feature runs perfectly.
