WhatsApp will allow you to recover messages deleted by mistake

WhatsApp finally prepares one of the most awaited functions: you will be able to recover the messages that you have deleted in a chat.

If you’ve ever regretted deleting a message you sent via WhatsApp, I’m very afraid that the new feature that’s about to arrive in the messaging app will fix your day.

And it is that, as they discovered in WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is going to introduce the option to recover deleted messages, as long as a short period of time has passed since the message was deleted.

You can finally recover WhatsApp messages that you deleted by mistake.

The “cancel” button will allow you to recover deleted messages

From what we have been able to discover, the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android – version 2.22.13.5 – already hides the function of recovering deleted messages. It is currently not available to users and must be enabled by modifying the application code. However, everything seems to indicate that his arrival is very close.

Once available, the option will appear when deleting a message. A prompt at the bottom of the screen – a type of prompt known in the Android development world as a “Snackbar” – will display a “cancel” button, allowing the message to be recovered.

The notification will last for a few seconds, so you’ll have to be quick if you want to retrieve the message and prevent it from disappearing forever. Also keep in mind that this feature will only be available for deleted messages only for us. If a message is deleted for all members of the chat, there will be no way to recover it…unless you resort to other methods to recover deleted messages.

The feature is still in development and should come to the app with a future update. For this reason, it’s recommended that you keep WhatsApp updated to the latest version available, so you don’t miss this or any of the other new features that are on their way to the app.
