Soon, it will be possible to log into the desktop version of “WhatsApp” using only your fingerprint, a feature that users have been waiting for a long time, because it is more secure.
WABetaInfo, which is concerned with tracking the app’s news, indicated that Facebook plans to release a fingerprint for a WhatsApp Web user to access it in the latest beta version of the Android beta program (2.20200).

And for those who have never used the WhatsApp Web version, they are allowed to access the platform on their computers or Macs using the QR code code, by scanning it through the WhatsApp application installed on your smartphone.
According to WABetaInfo, the new feature is expected to prevent WhatsApp from opening on your computer just because you logged into it once, as it is today, which adds a safety factor to your conversations.
Access will only be allowed when there is fingerprint authentication in the app on your cell phone, which is an important security feature for users who access WhatsApp Web from a device used by multiple people.
And apparently, this feature is still in the early stages of development. Therefore, it may take some time for the fingerprint authentication to arrive.
Additionally, there is still no information on whether the update should replace the current method, which uses QR code scanning, or whether the feature is just an optional addition to security, for those who want to restrict potential external access to their conversations.
