Video calls increased due to the Coronavirus pandemic, and companies such as Facebook and (Zoom) took full advantage of that, and earlier this year, WhatsApp increased the limit for conference calls from four to eight people, and now it appears that the WhatsApp application will soon offer the calling feature on Its desktop application.

According to the famous site (WABetaInfo), WhatsApp began testing the new feature, as the feature includes support for voice and video calls for both individual contacts and groups, according to the Arab portal for technical news.

The screenshots published by WABetaInfo suggest that when you call someone via WhatsApp from the desktop, a new window will open with controls for managing the call.

It is important to note that you can actually make video calls to people via the WhatsApp desktop app if you use the shortcut to create Facebook Messenger rooms, however, the upcoming feature will depend on the app’s infrastructure for making calls.

Since this feature is under development, we don’t know when WhatsApp will introduce support for calls on its desktop app.

Since we use the WhatsApp application a lot, whether for personal or work conversations, your conversations must contain a lot of media files, which leads to the consumption of the internal storage space in your phone. So you should check your phone from time to time to make sure that your files are not consuming much storage space.

The WhatsApp application makes this process much easier by introducing a new feature called: (Storage Manage) that allows you to manage the storage space consumed by the application, and make it easier for you to delete large files that you may not need to store in your device anymore. You can read how to free up storage space on your phone easily using the new WhatsApp feature from here.

And while WhatsApp developers try to improve security through two-factor authentication and end-to-end encryption, hackers can still access your messages by circumventing these protections. But if you are really concerned about security, it is better to use a messaging service that has better tracking history and does not store data like (Signal).
