Recently under iOS (iPhone 11 Pro Max), I discovered a rather painful limitation.
As a compulsory Whatsapp user, I use it a lot on a daily basis and I have become accustomed to using the Whatsapp application for Mac / PC (available in the AppStore) or the web service. I type much faster and better on my Mac than on any touchscreen keyboard.
Unfortunately, Whatsapp must be open and active (window displayed) on the phone for this to work. As soon as I turn off the iPhone screen, as soon as Whatsapp goes into the background or I change the application on the iPhone, Whatsapp on the Mac loses the connection. This was not the case on Android (Whatsapp Mac / web just worked as long as the phone was on).
Suddenly, the thing loses its interest. How to solve this stupid limitation?
The move from iOS 13 to 14 hasn’t changed anything.
