ALL WhatsApp users should check their security settings; you may be putting yourself at risk.
There are two essential settings that everyone should use.
Security settings are one of the best ways to defend against hackers, snoops, and criminals.
Two step verification
First of all, make sure you turn on 2-Step Verification.
It’s an extra step to verify your phone number, to help keep hackers out of the app.
Hackers regularly try to access WhatsApp accounts.
Hijacking a WhatsApp account is an easy way to gain the trust of your friends and family, allowing even more sinister scams to be promulgated.
To turn on 2-Step Verification, go to Settings > Account and turn the setting on.
It could save you from a devastating hacking attack.
whatsapp lock
Locking your WhatsApp separately to your iPhone is very important.
It means that the people who are using your phone cannot read your text messages.
To set this up, you need to head over to WhatsApp settings.
Then click on “Account” and then on “Privacy”.
From here, you can activate “Lock Screen” with Touch ID or Face ID.
You will also be able to choose a duration time for when identification is required again.
Now every time you go to open the application, it will ask for your fingerprints or a photo of your face to verify that it is really you who reads your private chats.
You can still quickly read and reply to messages in your notification window, so the tool isn’t foolproof.
You can also answer WhatsApp calls.
You can always disable all message previews in your iPhone settings.
