WhatsApp users will be able to send files up to 2 GB

Selular.ID – After releasing the new WhatsApp beta update for iOS 22.7.0.76, with support for iOS 15, WhatsApp is now starting testing that lets users share media files up to 2GB in size, or send files up to 2GB in size.

Because as is known for now WhatsApp can only share files of no more than 100MB. WhatsApp started a small test in the last few days, and some people can now share media files up to 2GB.

Not only the ability to send large files up to 2 GB on WhatsApp, it was previously reported that this application will limit user access to forward messages to chat groups, from initially being able to send messages directly to several groups to only one group chat.

On the other hand, the feature of sending large files of up to 2 GB in WhatsApp, is similar to the features in Telegram. As is known, Telegram has introduced a file sending feature with a similar maximum capacity since 2020.

And it’s not just this feature that has adopted a feature in Telegram, before it was a polling feature similar to Telegram, which would make communication in group settings more fun and useful.

According to WABetaInfo the feature will allow creating polls to check the group’s opinion on something or just having a regular voting session.

The poll option will only be available for WhatsApp groups. This means only people in the group can access the poll and its results.

Given that this feature is still in the testing phase, its presence is considered to be able to help users to send files via WhatsApp without the need to think about the size.

This means that users can freely send photo or video files with a larger size than before via WhatsApp.

Unfortunately for now it is only available in Argentina, and is limited to a certain number of beta testers. However, so far there is no explanation whether it will be rolled out globally, so that it can be accessed by all users.
