WhatsApp, the world’s most popular messaging service, will soon introduce a new feature that will make video calls more versatile and entertaining. In addition to the ability to send messages and make calls, users will soon be able to access various backgrounds and filters during video calls. These innovations aim to not only make video calls more personal, but also to increase data protection.
New backgrounds for more privacy and fun
Previously, WhatsApp only offered the default view for video calls, but with the upcoming update, users will be able to choose between ten different backgrounds. The spectrum ranges from virtual beaches and forests to blurred backgrounds that obscure private details in the background. The blurred background in particular is intended to help prevent prying eyes during calls.
Filters for creative video calls
In addition to backgrounds, new filters are being introduced that add an artistic or atmospheric touch to video calls. The “Warm” filter, for example, can be used to create a cozy atmosphere, while the “Prism Light” filter adds artistic effects. The camera quality should also be improved by allowing users to activate the “Refine” or “Low Light” function.
Availability of new features
WhatsApp plans to unlock these new features for all users in the coming weeks. This makes the messenger service, which has been used increasingly for professional purposes in recent years, an even more attractive option for video calls in small and large groups.
