MONTAIN VIEWWhatsApp has started rolling out a new feature that allows more people to join group conversations. With WhatsApp updates recently, increased member capacity from 256 to 512 in WhatsApp groups.

The latest WhatsApp update, discovered by WaBetaInfo, is rolling out gradually. If you haven’t received the update, you should be able to download the latest version within the next 24 hours.

“Finally, you can create a group with 512 participants, later you can add it by opening the group info,” noted WABetaInfo quoted by SINDOnews from the Livemint page, Tuesday (14/6/2022).

This feature is available for WhatsApp on Android and iOS, as well as on desktop computers. A few days ago, the instant messaging app started rolling out its 2GB media file sharing feature to its users which allows people to send or receive heavy files within the app.

“This is not limited to the beta version of the app: people who have installed the latest stable version of WhatsApp for Android, iOS and Desktop, can also create and join larger groups today,” he added.

WhatsApp also rolled out redesigned stickers for some users in the Android beta. The WhatsApp tracker also mentions, “The location sticker has been redesigned and also uses a different light green color. Plus, there’s another redesigned style: you can switch to an alternative style by tapping the location sticker.”

For a guide to using WhatsApp on the web, WhatsApp users who manage groups don’t have to do anything to increase the limit to 512 new members. Once a user updates WhatsApp to the latest version, their group can have twice the number of member slots.
