WhatsApp Undergoing Major Design Changes: New Features Coming to iPhone and Android

On September 6, 2023

WhatsApp is undergoing interesting major changes, with new design features said to be available on iPhone and Android.

The leakers claim that “WhatsApp” may see a complete change in the coming months, with a series of design tweaks in the works, including new colors and buttons, although WABetaInfo reveals that these changes may initially differ from one device to another. Categorizing messages into “All”, “Unread”, “Personal” and “Business” may be available on “iPhone” and “Android”.

WABetaInfo wrote: “We are very happy to announce that WhatsApp is finally working on improving the application interface through a redesign, which includes renewed buttons, which will make the interface more modern. In addition, “WhatsApp” also intends to add the feature of sorting conversations.
While many of the features are still in the development stages, the leakers claim that some of them are being tested on a beta version of WhatsApp – a testing program that allows users to try out features before they are released on a larger scale.

Leaked images also reveal testing the new colors on a larger scale on iOS versions of WhatsApp, with notifications, timestamps and tabs switched from blue to a more brand-friendly shade of green.

Meanwhile, a so-called Android “2.23.18.18” tester is said to have experimented with a new listing heading with the app’s name in green at the top.

Other tests also looked at multiple account options as well, which means multiple profiles will work on a single device in the future.

If true, it would bring WhatsApp in line with Twitter, or the current X, allowing users to switch between different accounts in a matter of seconds.

The new features are said to be still in the development stages, and are not yet ready for beta users.

But multiple account options for Android are currently available to some, and will be rolled out more widely in the coming days, the leakers claim.
