Instant messaging app WhatsApp will limit the number of forwarding messages or features forward in order to prevent the spread of content hoaks.
Three years ago, WhatsApp attempted to combat this false information by limiting the number of messages that could be shared.forward or passed on to only one time in Brazil.
Now, a similar policy appears to be rolling out to users worldwide.
The news emerged from WhatsApp for Android beta version 2.22.7.2. In this beta version, WhatsApp users are not allowed to forward messages that have been forwarded to more than one chat group or chat on Android.
according to WABetaInfoquoted 9to5mac, these restrictions will also apply to iOS devices. Currently, testing is done for WhatsApp beta version 22.7.0.76.
