WhatsApp tests tool to hide “online” status

A new function of the WhatsApp is in testing and should please many messenger users. Everyone has already encountered the desire for anonymity. Although it is possible to camouflage the visualization of the message, through the blue dashes, the “online” can report you. Is it possible to read and reply to messages on WhatsApp without appearing “online”? Now it will be.

First, it is worth noting that the application has no settings to hide the active status, or “online”. Anyone, even if they’re not your contact, can see the message.

Likewise, everyone can see when you are typing text or recording audio. There are also no ways to hide the messages that denounce your action.

The only official way to make this happen is blocking the contact. However, when blocking, you will not receive messages from that person. Generally, this is also not the intention of those who want anonymity.

New available for WhatsApp Business

However, users of the “business” version of the app can test the “online” hide function. In addition, the status of “last seen” will not appear either.

The novelty is present in the beta version (for testing) on the Android operating system. The discovery was revealed by the specialized website WABetaInfo.

According to the portal, the novelty is available for commercial accounts that use the Beta 2.21.13.17 version for Android. Because of this, you can still view the online status in WhatsApp Web and in the iPhone (iOS) app.

As the feature is still in the testing phase, some doubts remain in the air. For example, it is not known whether the change will be mandatory for WhatsApp Business accounts.

There is still a lot to be tested. Perhaps the option to hide the “online” is here to stay and, who knows, it will reach the default application.

Beware of external programs

There are some websites and apps that hide user status. Thus, it is not possible to show when you are online or sending a message.

However, for these software to work, you need to provide data from the application and your device. This requirement doesn’t sound very safe. After all, there really is no security or guarantee whatsoever.

WhatsApp does not recommend any external program to perform actions within the app. The objective is to guarantee the security of each user’s data.
