WhatsApp Tests the Delete Message Feature in Groups by Admin

Jakarta: WhatsApp is reportedly testing a feature that allows group chat admins to delete messages in chat rooms. Because currently, deleting messages that have been sent in a group can only be done by the sender of the message.

quote WABetaInfo, WhatsApp released update 2.22.1.1, which is the first beta update for the upcoming 2022. This update is said to reveal a new plan for deleting messages in groups.

WhatsApp also mentions that in a future update, the ability to delete incoming messages is for everyone if the user is a group admin. With this update, when a message is deleted it will leave a trail that says This has been deleted by the admin, accompanied by the name of the admin who deleted it.

However, this feature is still in the testing process and is not yet accessible to end-users or end-users. In addition, information about the exact date for the launch of this feature for beta testers is also not yet available.

WhatsApp claims with this feature, group admins will have more power to moderate WhatsApp groups. Meanwhile, a few months ago, WhatsApp was reportedly considering removing the time limit for deleting messages.

As a reminder at this time, WhatsApp users have 68 minutes 16 seconds to delete messages that have been sent. Previously, WhatsApp also announced an update to the voicemail feature in the latest version of WhatsApp.

According to a WhatsApp post, users can review voice messages before sending them to other users. This option to review voice messages on WhatsApp was previously unavailable.

WhatsApp also announced an option for users to set the Disappearing Message feature as the default setting, so users don’t have to always remember to enable this feature.

According to WhatsApp, users of the service now have the option to enable the Disappearing Messages feature by default for all new chats. When enabled, all new non-group chats will disappear after a user-defined duration.
