WhatsApp Testing Email Verification for Enhanced Identity Verification

WhatsApp plans to expand the verification of your identity
Text messages and calls will be supplemented by verification via e-mail
The new feature is currently being tested in the beta version

The communication application WhatsApp is among the most popular of its kind in the world. However, some users may find it annoying that it is too tied to a mobile phone, specifically a phone number. After all, if you want to connect your account to a new device or create an account for the first time, you will unfortunately not be able to do without verification via SMS or call. The developers of the popular “kecálek” are also aware of this limitation, who added the possibility of verification via e-mail to the latest beta version.

In addition to SMS, email verification will also be available

The first information about e-mail verification began to appear already in August of this year, however, we can only see the first screenshot proving the implementation of this solution within the beta version of the application. However, do not look for any catch in this, verification via e-mail will take place more or less in the same way as via text messages or a call – you will receive a code in your inbox, which you will then enter into the application, thereby verifying your identity.

Email authentication in WhatsApp

When we will see email verification also in the stable version of the application is not yet known, but it can be assumed that the developers from WhatsApp will not keep this news in beta testing for too long. If you do not want to use e-mail verification, you will still be able to rely on sending the code via SMS message or automatic call.
