On Friday, Whatsapp announced that it will start offering its users to encrypt even the chat logs that can be saved in the cloud, writes Wired. These have previously been unencrypted – and thus it does not help that all conversations are encrypted while they are taking place, something that Whatsapp has so far been proud of.
Whatsapp users will then be able to choose to store their encryption keys in any password manager, behind a password in Whatsapp, or completely offline.
