WhatsApp is working on a new feature: an ephemeral mode, named disappearing mode for the official English version. This novelty was spotted by WABetaInfo but for the moment, WhatsApp has not communicated on the subject.
An “ephemeral” mode that can be activated by default
According to a screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on a new option to enable ephemeral mode by default for all new conversations. It will be possible to activate it via the following path: Settings> Account> Privacy.
It is already possible to activate ephemeral messages but this implies manual intervention in each discussion, by going to Group Info or Contact info for conversations that already exist. This novelty could therefore allow users to no longer worry about activating ephemeral messages, if this is set by default.
