A 61-year-old woman from Mühlheim an der Ruhr, who is currently in Bad Sassendorf, fell victim to blatant scammers on Tuesday afternoon. She received a WhatsApp message from her alleged son asking her to pay off two outstanding bills. The kind mother transferred the requested amount of almost 7,000 euros to the specified account. After another money transfer request, the 61-year-old became suspicious and reported to the police. The police recommend, if you receive a request for payment through messenger services, that you first ask your relatives via a phone number you know.
