WhatsApp released a new feature named View Once or View Once. New features this can remove photos and videos as soon as they are viewed by the recipient.
The presence of the View Once feature was revealed by the opponent WABetaInfo after finding it on the WhatsApp application beta version 2.21.14.3 on Android. This feature does not only apply to photos, but also videos and GIFs.
In addition, this feature can be used in individual or group conversations. So how to use it?
1. Select the photo, video or GIF to send
2. In the Add a Caption section, you will find an icon that displays the number 1 in a circle. Tap the icon
3. A pop-up message appears explaining that WhatsApp has activated the View Once feature

It should be noted that View Once is different from the auto-disappearing message feature that WhatsApp has released before. When enabling the auto-disappearing message feature, WhatsApp will delete the chat within seven days.
While View Once, other people who receive the message will have one chance to see it. Even if a message is sent to someone who hasn’t activated the View Once feature, the recipient can only view it once.
The user who sent the message can also see the status of the message if it has been sent, viewed and opened. Even though there is a limit to viewing, recipients can still take screenshots of photos or videos, and WhatsApp will not notify the sender because there is no screenshot detection in the app yet.

When the View Once feature is used on a group, the shared media can be viewed once by each group member. The sender can find out who opened the media by clicking Message Info.
According to WABetaInfo, because blocked contacts can still interact with users in the group, they can also view sent media in View Once mode.
There is no information when this feature will be widely released. But Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has given a signal that this new WhatsApp feature will soon be available to everyone.
