Before making the user icon available in chats, WhatsApp launched a new feature for the iOS beta that made the tool similar to its competitor, Telegram🇧🇷 In this way, users of the desktop version 2.2245.3 will be able to test the upgrade that changes the aesthetics of the group conversation in the messenger.

as for the new update, the default profile icon will appear in cases where the member chooses to hide their photo in their privacy settings. With this, only a colored icon containing the color of the contact’s name will appear next to the message.

So far, the release of the novelty to the entire public of the platform is not planned. Also, the new feature is only available for the desktop and iOS beta, although there are plans to release it very soon in the Android beta.

WhatsApp tests new features for photos and videos

Interestingly, in addition to displaying the icon of participants in group conversations, the tool is also testing new photo and video features in the beta version of application🇧🇷 With the update, they are redesigning the camera aesthetic and will also make available new icons.

The way to record video directly from messenger also changed. The update lets you record a video by simply dragging it to the right side of the camera, toggling the buttons between “Photos” and “Videos.” Thus, you will no longer need to hold down the record icon, increasing the speed of switching between options.
