Jakarta –
WhatsApp released a new feature that makes it easier for users to access their accounts. The new feature is multi-account, which allows users to use two accounts on one cellphone simultaneously.
This feature has started rolling out to a number of users who are registered as beta testers. Selected users who have downloaded WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.23.13.5 should be able to try this new feature.
As the name implies, the multi-account feature allows users to add more than one WhatsApp account to the same application. Team detikINET including one lucky beta tester and can try this new feature.
WhatsApp users can add a second account in the application by opening the Settings menu and then tapping the down arrow icon next to the QR code. After that at the bottom of the screen there will be an option to add a new account.
The process of adding a new account is the same as logging in WhatsApp in general. Simply enter the phone number associated with the account, then enter the one-time password (OTP) code sent via SMS, enter the two-step verification code, then wait for the sync process to complete.
If you want to switch from one account to another, simply tap on the three vertical dots in the upper right corner and select ‘Switch account’. You can also enter the Settings menu then click the down arrow icon and select the account you want to open. Once you add a new account, it will persist on your device until logged out.

According to detikINET’s monitoring, currently the multi-account feature is only limited to two WhatsApp accounts in one application. Also, if a second account is already registered on another phone, that account will be removed immediately and can only be accessed on the phone that was just registered.
This feature will greatly facilitate users who have two accounts WhatsApp for personal and work matters. Instead of having to have two devices to access two accounts, now users can access two accounts simultaneously on the same cellphone and application.
A number of Android phones also offer an application clone feature which is often used to present two WhatsApp applications on one cellphone. Now WhatsApp users no longer need to bother setting up cloned applications because they can directly add accounts in the main application.
