WhatsApp Prepares Voice Message Status Feature

WhatsApp is reportedly preparing a feature for uploading voice messages as a status in the instant messaging application.

The WABetaInfo page, Wednesday (18/1/2023), found the voice message status feature being tested through the WhatsApp Android application beta version 2.23.2.8. In the beta version of the application, a number of users can upload voice message status.

Launch reports Antara, Thursday (19/1/2023), this feature can be accessed by users by visiting the status tab on the beta version of WhatsApp, and clicking on the text icon to upload the status.

If it’s available, users can see the voice recorder icon at the bottom of the page to make a status. WhatsApp provides a maximum duration of 30 seconds for voice messages.

The platform also provides flexibility for users to discard voice recordings and start recording again before sharing voicemail status.

To hear the status of voice messages uploaded by their friends, users must also use the latest version of the WhatsApp beta application.

Just like text and video statuses, voicemail statuses also disappear after 24 hours. Users can also manage who can see the status of the voice messages they create. (ant/bil/ipg)
