Meta (the company that owns WhatsApp) is currently testing a feature that allows group admins to delete messages from all members, not just theirs.

As reported by The Verge, although there is still no official confirmation of the new feature, it is understandable that it is currently being considered by Meta.
The new functionality is likely to appear in the upcoming beta version of WhatsApp for Android as well as iOS.
Once the new feature is ready, admins will be able to delete messages shared by any group member.
Once deleted, the following message is displayed – “This has been deleted by the admin.”
The current version of WhatsApp does not allow admins to delete messages for everyone and is only allowed to add or remove members from groups.
Currently deleting messages can be done but only involves the sender of the message, not directly involving the group admin.
This new feature will definitely get mixed reactions, but for sure, this feature can help reduce the spread of fake news more.
