Written by Mounis Hawass Thursday, December 7, 2023 07:00 PM The application works WhatsApp To provide a feature on iPhone devices that allows users to share music and audio during video calls, and this feature relies primarily on the screen sharing feature for video calls, which aims to improve the user experience and communication capabilities.
According to a report by WABetainfo, the feature was spotted in the latest beta version of WhatsApp for iOS 23.25.10.72. It will be available in a future update of the app.
How does this feature work?
Imagine you are planning a vacation via video call with your friends, and you just watched a video offering “things to do” in a place you plan to explore, what would you do? Send this link to video call participants individually/or in a group, they will receive it and watch the video, but during those minutes of watching the video, there will be complete silence on the call.
For this reason, WhatsApp introduced the screen sharing feature that allows users to share the content on their screen with all participants in the call, and the new feature will allow all participants in the call to listen to video and audio together when someone shares their screen.
With this feature enabled, the audio playing on the device will also be shared with other people in the call. It is worth noting that it is not compatible with voice calls or during video calls with video disabled.
Adding “real-time audio during a screen sharing session adds a dynamic layer to video calls, making virtual gatherings definitely more interactive,” and this will not only enhance the experience of watching videos together, but will also help in collaborating on a multimedia project virtually.
