WhatsApp plans redesign for voice calls, beta should start soon

WhatsApp is currently working on a makeover for voice calls. As was found out by a new iOS beta version, the interface for voice calls has been revised and the call view has been made more compact and modern.

That comes from a new report of the Online-Magazins WhatsApp Beta Info emerged. The information about the new features for voice calls is still hidden in an internal beta version, but could soon also start in the public test program. As WhatsApp Beta Info found out, a new interface for voice calls is under development and should be available in a future update for iOS and Android users.
First changes for voice calls

WhatsApp is redesigning the interface for a future update in order to make it more compact and modern and to reorganize the available space: The redesign will look particularly good for group calls, it is now said.

Encryption symbol

So far, the changes in the internal build, which WhatsApp Beta Info is available, are only hinted at. UI changes that have not yet been seen should also be implemented.

In addition, WhatsApp is working on indicators for end-to-end encryption, according to the report. This means that the end-to-end encryption should be displayed as a small symbol with every chat and message.

WhatsApp Beta Info explains it like this:

“Not even WhatsApp and its parent company Meta can read or hear them. WhatsApp wants to remind you that WhatsApp is a safe place to talk to your friends and family, so plans to introduce two indicators in a future update : As you can see in the screenshot above, WhatsApp is working on new indicators for the Status and Call areas. ”

It is currently unknown whether there is already a planned release date or a schedule for the gradual introduction of the changes.
