Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Some time ago, WhatsApp confirmed that it would launch a new feature called View Once. This feature makes the photos and videos sent can only be viewed once.
Previously, WhatsApp had a similar auto-delete feature. But only the text will be deleted within a certain period of time.
After the text, this time WhatsApp has a feature for photos and videos that disappear automatically and can only be viewed once. To use it, here’s how to use it:
– Select the image or video to send. You can do this directly from the gallery application or attachments in WhatsApp.
– Before sending, there will be a number 1 icon next to the send button.
– Click the icon, until a notification appears ‘Photo set to view once.
– Next send photos and videos.
The recipient will receive a notification if the content sent has been set using the View Once feature. But it will only appear for the beginning.
After the photos and videos are opened, there will be a description opened with two blue check marks. This is a sign if the photo has been opened and can no longer be seen.
Photos and videos that have used View Once still only appear with that tag, even if the View Once status is disabled. This feature can be used both in personal and group chats.
Actually, a similar feature already exists on Instagram. The difference is WhatsApp will not notify if videos and photos take screenshot or record the sent file.
Unfortunately, this feature is only available in beta for Android version 2.21.14.3. This means that not all users can taste the View Once feature.
The Wabetainfo report states that if there are users who have not seen this feature, they will need to wait for the next app update. Meanwhile, iOS beta activation will follow soon.
The page also notes that users who do not participate in the program can only receive photos and videos with the View Once feature.
