Contacts and groups combined in list
How WABetaInfo explained, the new feature could work as follows: First, users create a new list in the settings or via shortcut, give it an individual name and add contacts or groups of their choice. The list name then appears as a filter in the chat overview – right next to “All”, “Unread”, “Groups” and “Favorites”. If the personal filter is then clicked, only chats with contacts or groups that are part of the list appear. Subsequent addition of contacts or groups should be possible according to information from WABetaInfo also be possible.
Release date still uncertain
The intention behind the planned innovation is to be able to organize conversations more specifically in the future. For example, a list of work colleagues that can be quickly accessed via chat filters would be conceivable. According to WABetaInfo WhatsApp Business users could also benefit from this, for example by creating a separate list for new customers. First of all, however, one thing is needed above all: patience. The personalized chat lists are currently in development. It is not yet clear whether and when the feature will be finally implemented.
