Tuesday, September 10: The messenger is discontinuing its Electron-based app for macOS. The messenger announced this a year ago. Wednesday, August 28: Users who have downloaded and installed version 2.24.17.16 can now also talk to the Meta AI chatbot. Previously, communication was only possible via chat message. Friday, August 9: Soon, all users of the messenger will be able to have messages translated automatically. So far, this is only possible with the beta version of Android. Users select the desired translation language and Whatsapp downloads the required language packs. When the translation is finished, a notification appears in the message field.
