WhatsApp gets new features. The Community feature, which aims to revolutionize group chats on Messenger, is particularly exciting.
Group features are one of the reasons why WhatsApp has become the most popular messenger in the world. Now the service, which has been part of Meta-Platforms since 2014, is revolutionizing group chats.
WhatsApp introduces the community functionality
WhatsApp will introduce a new community feature, the messenger announced. This should provide a much better overview for users interacting with the same group of people in multiple group chats. This can be true for colleagues or family, for example. So the chaos that WhatsApp groups sometimes bring with them should end.
The feature will be called Community and it works as follows: If you create a community, you can organize multiple group chats within a group of people. An example: within a sports club it is possible to create several chat groups, in which different thematic areas are brought together under the same roof. They can be clearly displayed in a community.

WhatsApp: The new Community feature will arrive in the coming months
WhatsApp wants to make the Community feature available to all users around the world in the coming months. A separate tab will be created within the app, which will appear at the bottom of the screen on Apple phones. For Android smartphones, it is displayed at the top.
If you tap the tab, you can create a new community and add existing groups to a community. All members of a community can also see an overview showing all existing groups. You can easily switch between them. There are also chat group announcements aimed at members of a community on the communities home page.
