A major update with version number 2.24.21.80 is now available for download in the Google Play Store for WhatsApp Messenger for Android of the instant messaging service of the same name. With the new version you can now mention other people in status. Tap the @ button in the input field during the editing step. This way you can ensure that people around you see your status by mentioning them privately. The people you mention will be notified privately and will be able to see the status and then share it again with others. The mention will not appear in your status. There are also the usual bug fixes and improvements to make the app more reliable. The update with version number 2.24.21.80 requires a device with Android 5.0 and above and can be downloaded now from the Google Play Store, otherwise you will be notified as soon as it is available for your device.
