A beta version of WhatsApp shows that the “View Once” feature has been improved. Senders can now be confident that their self-destructing messages cannot be distributed further.
The popular WhatsApp messaging service is currently working on a new version. This brings about a decisive change: messages sent with the “View Once” function can no longer be saved on the mobile phone in the future.
It is actually in the spirit of the inventor and a readjustment of the current function. With “View Once” the sender can send information, an image, which disappears spontaneously after being viewed once. This can be done for a variety of reasons. Harmless example: a funny snapshot of a party.
The ability to save it as a screenshot or film the screen counteracts this feature. This will be prevented in the future in the new beta version. The recipient gets a black screen while trying and the message that this feature is blocked.
Of course, this does not completely prevent the saving and distribution of this content. You can still take a picture of the screen with another mobile phone. But it is at least a good and necessary step.
