Recently, “WhatsApp” has been pleased with many new options, including updating the profile status. Continuing to improve the user experience, the company plans to launch an audio message transcript feature that would allow voice messages to be turned into text. Specifically, the app will identify the content of an audio message to then convert it into text format.
However, for now this feature is still in the early beta stage and is only available on iOS devices. Speaking of limitations, the audio message transcript feature won’t work if the app can’t recognize any words or if the voice message is in a language the user hasn’t checked in the settings. Also, all voicemail transcripts will be processed on the device rather than uploaded to WhatsApp’s servers, which is a plus in terms of privacy.
It is not yet clear when the beta version of the audio message transcript feature will arrive on Android devices. It is also important that WhatsApp has been preparing this feature since September 2021, which is a very long time. It should be noted that, for example, “Telegram” has such a function for a long time, however, only users of the paid version “Telegram Premium” can use it. WhatsApp plans to offer this feature for free to everyone.
