WhatsApp releases a tool that can delete multiple shared photos, GIFs and videos at once. This allows users to quickly free up space on their phone.
The new feature will be made available to users worldwide in the coming week and can be found in the settings of the chat app. With the tool, users can decide for themselves what information they keep on their phone or discard.
Currently it is already possible to delete photos and videos on WhatsApp, but then they will all be deleted. With the new function, users select themselves what needs to be deleted.
WhatsApp can also categorize shared messages itself, for example in a folder that contains images ‘larger than 5 MB’. Received messages that have already been forwarded many times, such as funny videos from the internet, can also be bundled in a folder for immediate removal.
