WhatsApp has finally started allowing its users to hide when they are online. The option that can make anyone “invisible” started rolling out this Friday (14) to the general public after spending months testing.
At the beginning of September the function entered the Beta phase and now reaches the stable version of the app. In practice, this option that is hidden when you are online is associated with the “last seen”, which can vary depending on the user’s preferences. Therefore, you can hide being online from everyone, anyone not on your contact list or anyone.
Hiding the “online” on WhatsApp is quite simple:
1. Go to Settings> Account> Privacy> Last Accessed and Online;
2. First, define who can see “last seen”;
3. Finally, define who can see when you are online: the options are just “Everyone” or “Even if ‘last seen’.
It’s worth noting that the feature appears to have started rolling out to the general public this Friday, meaning it’s possible it will take a few days to arrive on your device. To make sure everything is ready, keep the app updated on your phone.
