WhatsApp Launches New Security Feature to Protect Users from Fraudulent Messages and Phishing Scams

The problem of fraudulent messages targeting WhatsApp users to steal their money or personal data is dangerous for the safety of users and their data.

A few days ago, WhatsApp announced a solution to this problem and the WhatsApp application launched a new security feature aimed at enhancing user protection against phishing scams and enhancing account security to prevent accounts from being hacked with “one click.”

“Block without opening the message,” is what some WhatsApp users called the new feature that can save time and effort, as well as the risk of clicking on malicious links that can hack data in a few seconds.

This feature also allows users to block messages from unknown contacts directly from the lock screen, providing a convenient way to address unwanted messages without even opening them.

The feature can be activated if you see an unwanted message on the lock screen. All you have to do is long press on the notification, and you will see options to block the sender.

If you want to report a contact, the app will display a second prompt. Simply tap the “Report a contact” checkbox and then tap “Block” in the pop-up window.
