Since the triumph of the smartphone, digital communication has changed radically. Such messages, whether text or voice message, are provided with numerous emojis or one of the stickers preinstalled in the app. If you want to go one step further and give your chats an absolutely personal touch, you can do this with own WhatsApp stickers do. But how does that work?
Create WhatsApp stickers: App is required
If you want to create your own stickers for WhatsApp, you have to use an app from the Play Store or App Store. There are different providers for this. Easy to use and therefore recommended is the free “Sticker Maker”, which is available in both shops. Create your own WhatsApp stickers: How does the “Sticker Maker” work?
After downloading the “Sticker Maker” you can start right away. The following steps must be observed:
- Open the app and press the “Get Started” button. You then have the choice of taking a new picture or choosing one from your files.
- Important: Before the app can access your photos, you must give it permission to do so.
- After you have shot or selected the right image, you need to choose the crop.
- Then cut the desired motif, your future sticker, from the photo. You can either do this freehand or use the given options.
- A little tip: The most difficult stickers are those that you cut out freehand, but they are also the most beautiful. Smart Pick is also available in the app, but it doesn’t always live up to its name.
- If you have cut out the image, you must confirm your selection. Now you can add more text or an outline.
- When the sticker is almost ready, all you have to do is create a sticker pack to save the sticker in question and give it a name.
- Then export the stickers to WhatsApp by clicking on the corresponding button. However, you need at least three stickers in a pack.
- Your sticker is ready. If you want to create more stickers, click on the respective sticker pack and then on “Add Sticker”.

Creating stickers for WhatsApp: important tips
This way you can create ten sticker packs with 30 stickers each for free. If you want more, you have to pay. By the way, when choosing the motifs for the stickers, you should choose carefully: Once received, these stickers can be saved and forwarded by other WhatsApp users.
